Green Grove Public School, recently hosted its inaugural Phonics Event, spearheaded by the esteemed phonics expert, Ms. Raman Grewal!
This event was a testament to the students hard work and dedication which was attended by our esteemed guests Mr. J.P.S Jolly(president), Mrs. SatinderjitJolly ( Chairperson), Ms Navera Jolly( Vice President). Ms. Suzy George, the principal’s innovative decision to introduce phonics empowers students with foundational skills, fostering literacy and language proficiency. Phonics is a cornerstone of literacy education, laying the foundation for strong reading and writing skills. This method focuses on the relationship between sounds and letters, aiding in the development of reading and writing skills from an early age. Unlike traditional rote learning, which relies on memorization, phonics equips children with essential tools for decoding words independently.
This event highlighted the vital role phonics plays in children’s learning journeys, offering a captivating showcase of activities, skits, and plays. From dynamic performances on team blending and segmenting to engaging demonstrations of vowel sounds and phonics rules like the magical 'e', 'ck', and floss rule and many other. The event was both educational and entertaining. Students and parents alike were enthralled by the interactive presentations, gaining valuable insights into effective literacy strategies.
What truly warmed our hearts was the enthusiastic participation of parents in the activities. Their eagerness to engage with their child's learning process underscores the importance of community involvement in education
